From its founder Samuel Vogel, the current generation has inherited a curious, open and innovative spirit, but above all a sense of land values. It is in this state of mind that the family has oriented itself towards a reasoned cultivation.
The Domaine Croix Duplex adventure began in 1929. Samuel Vogel fell in love with the Lavaux region, to the point of leaving his native German-speaking Switzerland to settle on the heights of the village of Grandvaux, in order to fulfil his dream: to become a winegrower. He built his house and then a cellar to vinify the wines he endeavoured to produce, drawing inspiration from his many readings on viticulture and œnology.
At the head of the estate since 1973, Jean and his wife Marlyse have been working hard to develop the small family business. In 1975, the young couple bought their first vine in Epesses. This will mark the beginning of the development of the Domaine Croix Duplex.
After a rich and passionate itinerary, Jean and Marlyse handed over the keys to the estate to their two children. Simon, the eldest, a graduate of Marcelin for viticulture and Changins for œnology, went to work in German-speaking Switzerland for 2 years, while his sister, Maude, a graduate of Marcelin in viticulture, worked for 10 years on the steep slopes of Lavaux before improving her knowledge in sales and communication. She joined the adventure in 2008.
